10 years anniversary WRCH Dummy Trial & Working Test 3-5 April 2015 How it started...? 2005... amazing that it has already been 10 years ago that we founded our Working Retriever Club of Hungary. This club is our baby, which is getting a teenager in the meantime... Some friends, who became closer due to the common hobby, the goal, and the desire to support the retriever sport in our country, decided to work seriously to achieve their goals, whilst still trying to keep it all fun, and founded a retriever club which is dedicated to working retrievers. In the first few years we could only organise field trials together with supporting clubs who trusted our commitment and our desire to work for this sport. These 3 clubs were the Italian Retriever Club with Stefano Martinoli, the German Retriever Club, with Eva Berg's support, and the Austrian Retriever Club with Thano Keller who was the WT & FT Referent those times for ÖRC. After some years of argumentation with our kennel club we finally became recognised as an official partner of the Hungarian Kennel Club and we are entitled to organise field trials as well since. Our club is not a breeding club, but a working club, a small but friendly one with about 100 members, and we are proud on it that all our members are actively working with their dogs. The most prestigeous european event we ever organised was the IWT in 2011 which we are very proud of. The 10 years anniversary will be special. For us anyway. And we will make it special for all participants as well. Who else could we invite than the first two persons who gave training seminar in Hungary to judge this 3 days event for us and these two guys are Stefaan Bollen (B) and Stefano Martinoli (I). We are glad to celebrate together with them. Where else could it be than in Szigetköz, near Dunasziget where our first events have been organised. A SENIOR CLASS will be organised for the first time in our club’s life, we hope to welcome all those SENIORS over 9 years of age who may be attended our first events too… The tests will be Novice Level, motto: just for fun! Please check back for our news, and don't miss the event. We count on all our friends who share our passion and who have been part of our club's life and events over the last 10 years. The story to be continued…. Entries will be online from 20. February Andrea Böszörményi More » |

CACT + Gun's Choice: Fly of Dukefield (labrador retriever bitch) handled by: Andrea Böszörményi "good": Denbank Kirky (labrador retriever male), handled by: Kurt Becksteiner Full list of results can be found here: Thank you to all who have contributed to the success of this event, it was a great team work, thank you to our to judges, Guy Bennett andf Pauliina Ahola, to our hosts and guns, to Dr. Heike and Ralph Klieber for all their help, to the organizing team for their excellent job. The trial was flowing, the standard of dogs was above expectations, the shooting itself was excellent, the guns could see wonderful dogs, great retrieves, we could be really proud on our retrievers! Some of the guns sayed in the end that after seeing our dogs, they would already think about buying a retriever as a gundgog! This say enough I think, bearing in mind that retrievers are not the most popular gundogs in our country. I would like to congratulate to Petra again for her winning! Lesser Burdock Ansdell and Fly of Dukefield have already qualified for next year's Champinoship!

I only realised at the end of the 2. day that the winner was from Hungary in all classes, which could have sounded a mission impossible a few years ago in such an international event, where we had competitors from Austria, Sweden anf France as well, espcecially in the higher classes. A newcomer, Beretta von den Hochangern won the Puppy Class with Hazafi József, this was the first test for this young dog - a great result though! The Novice Class winner was Blackthorn Hatsya Holly with Nikolett Szendrei, and she was also awarded to be winning the Szigetköz Cup 2011. The winner of the intermediate class was Megyeriné Kati with Blackthorn Fair. In the Open Class, after a 3 dogs run off, Fly of Dukefield won, honestly saying I would not have expected such a great results from her being that her puppies have only left to their new homes a week ago! Watching the prize giving ceremony and listening to the speeches from the winners who were emotionally touched, it was nice to see how much plus this sport, and our dogs can give to us. Thanks to all for attending the event, the photos of our two professional photographers Ágota Jakabfi and Ádám Urbán may give back something of the great atmosphere we had over there during the two days - all who could not come, definitely missed something - but of course there is always a a next time!

STEFANIA MARTINOLI I got interested in gundogs 15 years ago when my father bought a trained working labrador in England. I used to go shooting with my dad and I fell in love with this breed. I started running labradors myself when I met my husband Stefano. Since then I have run my labradors successfully in Working Tests and Field Trials in Italy and abroad and I was in the Italian Team at the Coupe d’Europe, in Highclere and at the CLA Game Fair in the UK many times. I have made up a few Field Trial Champions and my bitch FTCH Greenbriar Tiler was also nominated Top Labrador at the CLA Game Fair in England in 2009. I train labradors, goldens and cheasepeaks professionally. Together with my husband I breed working labradors under the kennel name Waterfriend. I love watching dogs work and for this reason some years ago I became Working Test and Field Trial judge. The main things I want to see in gundogs are style, how they use their nose, their gamefinding abilities and how they form a partnership with their handlers. I am very pleased to come to Hungary to judge a working test in such beautiful surroundings and I wish everybody good luck!!
CINZIA SGORBATI I have owned labradors for over 20 years and I breed labradors together with my husband Sergio under our Dolphingham affix. We have always shown and worked our dogs and we have gained over 32 titles during the years. I train and run all our labradors both for working tests and field trials. I strongly believe that even retrievers from show lines should get the chance to work and maintain those assets such as good temperament and gamefinding abilities typical of this breed. My love for shooting and picking up also led me to get interested in judging and so I have become International Field Trial judge. As I am interested both in showing and working our labradors, I am now training to become an International Show judge too. In these last years I have judged several field trials and working test in Italy and abroad and have always had great pleasure and satisfaction in doing it. In 2009 I was asked by the Italian Kennel Club to select the dogs for the Italian Team participating in the filed trial for the Cup d’Europe in Denmark : testing many dogs for such an important gundog event has been a real challenge but I really enjoyed that task. I am honoured to have been asked to come to Hungary to judge your working test. I am looking forward to as I know I will see beautiful grounds and a high standard of gundog work. More » |

Austrian – Hungarian Field Trial Championship
It is our pleasure to announce that the Austrian Retriever Club and the Working Retriever Club of Hungary have decided to call the Austrian - Hungarian Field Trial Championship to life. The Championship will be held in alternate countries each year, in 2011 it will be organized by the Working Retriever Club of Hungary . Date: 10. December 2011 Qualification: Qualification for this Championship are the results from CACIT Field Trials run between 1st September 2010 until 1st December 2011 run in Hungary and Austria, organized by the Austrian Retriever Club and the Working Retriever Club of Hungary. If other clubs in Hungary organise a CACIT field trial (The Labrador Club of Hungary or the The Golden Retriever Club), upon their previous agreement with the organisers of The Championship, those trials can also be accepted as qualifier trials. Results such as CACIT, Res. CACIT, excellent, very good, good will be taken into consideration, CACIT titles counting highest, than Res. CACIT etc. The qualifications count first and only after that the placement. (for example someone who has a 1. place with a very good will be put behind the one who has a 4. place excellent). In case 2 dogs have got the same results, then the dog whose results are closer to the date of the Championship will be put higher in the ranking. It is always the responsibility of the two club’s field trial secretaries to rank the entered dogs upon their results. It is possible to enter for the Championship also without qualification, but the entry will only be accepted in case there are not enough qualified dogs. In this case there will be a draw among the dogs which have not qualified. The number of dogs running will be decided by the organizing club every year, depending on the grounds, amount of game, and other circumstances. Entries are possible via the website of the working-retriever.hu website from 01. September 2011. After sending your entry online, please also send the list of trials you like to be taken into consideration, and the copy of the documents (diplomas) to the info@workingretriever.hu email address. Please find below a short introduction of our judges at the WT in Sopron:
ROGER TOZER (GB) I am honoured to be a committee member at the London Kennel Club, which deals with all gundog field trials & working test. I am an A panel judge for retrievers & spaniels. Won my first field trial in 1772. Made up field trial champions with cocker spaniels Springer spaniels & retrievers. Won the CLA game fair in 1992 & 1997. I was winning team captain at Highclere retriever international 2004 & 2006. Judge the CLA game fair three times, also Highclere international. I had the honour to judge the IGL British retriever championship 2006 & 2010. Also judge the British spaniel championship in 1983 & 2005, and the Irish spaniel championship in 1990. I have had the pleasure judge and also completed training seminars all over Europe, and had the pleasure to judge an international in Italy 2006.
RON GENT (GB) I started in Labradors some 26 years ago training my first bitch (Cassie) to be a shooting companion and also for picking up. This as with any other sport led me into the world of working tests where I had success with Cassie’s offspring. As with the gundog world this eventually took me to field trialling mine and sometimes my wifes dogs winning at both novice and all aged levels and gaining awards in open retriever one and two day stakes. I enjoy both running in and judging tests and trials both in England and abroad as a Kennel Club B panel retriever judge, having judged over 100 trials. WT Sopron will be online from 01. February. All details can be found at our EVENTS. Judges will be Mr. Roger Tozer and Mr. Ronnie Gent from the UK whose profile can be found later here on our website. Referring to the several questions we have got we would like to inform you that - because of the early date this year - we do not plan any water test. Hope to see you again in Sopron. WRC More » |
